THE DECK-CHAIR ELEVEN CLUB
or
DECK-CHAIR XI
or
DCXI
As opposed to the Sunday First Eleven, or the Saturday Second Eleven; the DECK-CHAIR XI ( which is the Roman number eleven and uses less ink) is comprised of "cricketers", friends of cricketers, parents of junior cricketers, partners, spouses, etc and is mainly a Social Group the Club runs.
The "Deck-Chair XI" terminology came about as a result of a few past Krushers coining the phrase when they realized they'd passed their cricketing "Used By:" date and were better off on the sidelines in a Deck-Chair watching the game rather than playing it!. From there on, the phrase has stuck and we have the Deck-Chair XI Club.
- The Deck-Chair XI involves no playing of the game, therefore, no training!!
- Member benefits include reduced prices or free entry to Club Functions amongst others.
